Started in 1997, the MEFIYI Foundation provides Northern Nevada youth with sports and enrichment programs. These programs give participants an opportunity to work with professional athletes, coaches and instructors.

Our program goals are to build self esteem, learn the importance of education, work ethic, listening skills and how to work with others. Since our inaugural year, over 11,000 student-athletes have participated in MEFIYI programs.

We have generated funds to sponsor financially challenged families to attend our activities and we have gifted funds to the following youth organizations:

The Children's Cabinet, Procter R. Hug High School, Northeast Youth Coalition, Galena High School, Carson Valley Shockers, Reno High School,Pop Warner, Pershing County High School, Girl Scouts of Nevada, Douglas High School, Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada, Hen Hen Youth Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, Incline High School, Project Solution, Rite of Passage, Washoe County Juvenile Services,

We have strived towards developing activity centers and special events that will provide supervised environments for our student/athletes to explore their talents and ambitions.

Our project highlights include:
1. Chaired the task force that raised $500,000 which enabled completion of the 2500 square foot expansion of the Helen and Ollie Westbrook Community Center in Reno, Nevada.

2. Initated the campaign and secured $200,000 start up funding that opened the Boys & Girls Club of Carson Valley. We are proud to announce this operation began servicing kids June 25, 2007.
